Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme (IGNDPS) and Saint Surdas Scheme (Scheme for financial assistance to severely handicapped persons)
(Scheme for financial assistance to severely handicapped persons), dtd. 22-11-2000.
(A) Who are entitled for the benefit ? :-
The applicant must be in the age group of below 64 years,
The persons who have more than 80% or above handicapness.
The income of the family of the beneficiary should be upto the score of 16 in the BPL list for rural areas and to the beneficiaries of urban areas, one who possesses theBPL beneficiary mark as per the guidelines of Urban Development.
The beneficiary above the age of 21 years who does not have son.
Who is a permanent resident of Gujarat since 10 years.
Must be a holder of Handicapped Identity Card issued by the State Government.
What kind of benefit is available ? :-
Rs. 200/- PM to the handicapped applicant of below 17 years of age,
Rs. 400/- PM to the handicapped applicant of the age group of 18 to 64,
The assistance is paid to the applicant at his home through Money order or credited to their bank or post office account.
(B) Information to be attached with the Application :-
Application Forms are available free of cost from the Office of District Social Security Officer.
Certificate showing the handicapness by Civil Surgeon
The Handicapped Identity Card issued by Social Security Officer, Certificate showing the BPL Score issued by competent authority.
Proof of Age,
Certificate showing the permanent resident of Gujarat since 10 years.
Certificate showing the non-existence of a son aged above 21 years.
The Application Forms duly filled in and to be submitted to the Office of District Social Security Officer, who will check the documents and if found eligible, sanction orders will be issued.
(C) When the assistance will be ceased ? :-
When the applicant completes 64 years of age,
When the son of the applicant attains the age of21 years,
When the income of the applicant and his/her family surpasses the stipulated limit.
The applicant is entitled for the financial assistance from the month in which the application is sanctioned.
